Organizations & Entrepreneurship
Industrial-organizational psychology is the application of psychology to work, business, leadership, teams, and organizations. It asks practical questions: Why do some people thrive at work while others burn out? Why do some teams function well and others quietly fall apart? How do you hire well, lead well, communicate clearly, make better decisions, and build an organization people actually want to be part of?
That side of psychology has always made sense to me. I’ve done it for twenty years, long before I became a licensed psychologist with training in industrial-organizational psychology. I currently own two businesses myself and am preparing to launch my third. I enjoy the psychology of building things: understanding people, finding demand, shaping an offer, solving problems, and helping a business become more useful and more successful.
I also like making people money. The first time I helped someone make ~$500,000, I saw what it did to his life. He felt safer. More confident. His relationship improved. He came out of his shell. It made me realize that business, at its best, is not just competition. It can create security, freedom, purpose, and opportunity.
Sometimes what people want is a product. Sometimes it is a service, an experience, or a transformation.
I like helping build the bridge.
If you are starting, growing, or rethinking a business, I am available for business and organizational consultation.
